Final reading in 2007 Poetry and Fiction Series

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA –- Jonathan Aaron will give a reading of his poetry in the last event of the annual Poetry and Fiction Series at Bard College at Simon’s Rock.   His reading, free and open to the public, will be held on Thursday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Blodgett House.

Called a “magical realist” by Charles Simic in Partisan Review, Aaron is author of three collections of poetry, including Journey to the Lost City.  He says of his work: “My poems are out of a desire to ask questions, not to supply answers.” He writes poems that ask, “Is it possible to be at home in the world?”

Aaron’s work has received many honors, including fellowships from Yaddo and MacDowell colonies, and the Massachusetts Endowment for the Arts. His poems, essays, and reviews have been published in The Paris Review, The New York Review of Books, and The Times Literary Supplement, among others.  He lives in Cambridge and teaches at Emerson College.
