Following is a selective listing of the services found at the Alumni Library, along with a brief summary of each service.

The main desk at the Library is where patrons can check out, renew, and return items from the Library's Collection.

At faculty request, the Library places hardcopy (books, DVDs, etc.) or electronic (articles, book chapters, etc.) items on reserve. Hardcopy reserves are for in-library use only, usually for 4 hours.

Interlibrary Loan

You will probably not find every book and article you need in our library collections. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows you to access materials from libraries across the country.

Reference services are available during regular library hours by email, telephone, and in person. We’ll try to answer any question you ask!

Faculty Book/Media Requests

Faculty can submit requests for the library to purchase materials that support their courses through the online Faculty Book & Media Request Form.

Information Fluency Instruction

Information fluency is the ability to recognize and understand an information need, as well as the skills required to find, analyze, and use information effectively and ethically.

Librarians offer Information Fluency Labs, which are a required component of the Seminar sequence. In addition, faculty can request discipline-specific sessions for their courses, offered at the library or in their classroom.
