GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—
The Second Annual Free Swim Lesson Week kicks off April 16 at the Kilpatrick Athletic Center pool. Sponsored by Bard College at Simon’s Rock, The Kilpatrick Athletic Center and SwimAmerica of Western Massachusetts, the community service offers free lessons to children aged 5-13 years old every day from April 16 - 20.
This year the Kilpatrick Athletic Center will hold three sessions a day (4:00-4:30 p.m., 4:40-5:10 p.m., 5:20-5:50 p.m.) focusing on non-swimmers, children with basic skills and those who have never had lessons before. Limited space is also available for children who want to work on stroke development.
At the same time, The Simon’s Rock Pace Maker Masters Swim Team will also offer adult lessons ideal for adults who may be fearful of the water, can swim but have trouble breathing, or just want help perfecting their strokes. It’s also a great opportunity for parents whose children are taking lessons to hop in while their child is in the water!
Classes are available on a first come, first served basis. To register for either the children’s or adults lessons, you must come to the Kilpatrick Athletic Center and fill out all appropriate forms. Registration will begin on March 26th and end on April 11th or when the classes fill up! If you have any questions you can call 413-528-7777.
