Vocal recital Dec. 9 at Simon's Rock

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA – Gigi Teeley presents the annual vocal recital of her vocal students and the Vocal Performance: Opera and Musical Theater class. The recital will take place on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Kellogg Music Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
The recital will feature solos, duets, trios, and quartets from La Boheme, The Fantasticks, Hansel & Gretel, The Last Five Years, Merrily We Roll Along, My Fair Lady, Pirates of Penzance, Spamalot, Sweeney Todd, Wicked, and also works by Bach, Berlioz, Grieg, and Mozart.
Teeley received her BA from Boston University, where she studied voice with Barbara Stevenson. Her parents who were both professional opera singers also instructed her. As a child, she performed in numerous stage productions and went on to sing with the New York City Opera. She has been a musical director on Broadway, as well as having appeared on the Broadway stage. She has also toured throughout the world. Her diverse style has been heard on numerous rock recordings, as well as television and radio. She taught voice at Barnard College for four years, and had a private studio in New York City for 15 years.
Hilda Banks Shapiro will be the concert accompanist, and participating students are the following: Evyn Casey, Carissa Dagenais, Faye Donnelly, Hannah Dunne, Brianna Gonyea, Alexis Koda, Hannah MacDonald, Sarah Means, Casey Parles, Blake Ross, Torin Rozelle, Samantha Scott, Lily Tucker, Rich Vaden, Stephanie Waldo, Greg Walker, and Sean Wang.
