Paintngs by Great Barrington artist Stephen Filmus

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA– An exhibition of paintings by Stephen Filmus will be on view in the Library Atrium Gallery of Bard College at Simon’s Rock from August 18 through October 6.

Stephen Filmus has lived in Gt. Barrington for 30 years. His work is included in various collections and has been widely exhibited, including with David Findlay Jr. Fine Art in New York, and locally at The Berkshire Museum, the Clark-Whitney Gallery and the Norman Rockwell Museum. The artist identifies his father Tully Filmus, who was also his teacher, as among his primary influences. Another influence on his work was his brother Michael, also an artist.

There will be a reception for the artist on August 18, from 2 to 5 p.m.
