New virus definition files can be obtained here to allow detection of the latest viruses. 

F-Prot Antivirus must be used on all Windows based computers on the college's network. The college provides it for everyone who connects. If you do not have F-Prot on your computer, please call x7371 for help.

F-Prot Updater should be configured to download updates from the Internet, not the LAN. The Updater and Scanner should be scheduled to run daily. In the scanner options, select "Disinfect." In "If fails..." choose "Delete" for applications and "Remove macros when suspicious" for Documents.

If you get an error message when logged in as a non-administrative user, follow these steps:

• Log in as an administrator.
• Open the control panel.
• Open folder options.
• In the view tab, uncheck "Use simple file sharing" if it is present.
• Open C:\Program Files\FSI\.
• Right click the F-Prot folder and select "Properties."
• In the security tab, select "Users" and check "Allow" under "Full Controll."
