A Berkshire Festival of Women Writers Spotlight event: The Powder Keg Sessions: Four Writing Workshops for Mothers and Others

When:   Sun Sep 23 • 2:00 pm

Where:   Blodgett House

Led by author, blogger, artist and full-time Mom, Suzi Banks Baum.

Do you feel combustible?

Is your voice waiting to be heard?

If you opened your mouth to SPEAK YOUR TRUTH–would you know what to say?

If someone tossed a match towards the cache of your unexpressed thoughts, would you burst in to flame?

Step away from that kitchen sink or conference table and spend 2 hours on a set of four Sundays from September to January writing in the company of other women. Find yourself among women interested in telling the story of motherhood from the inside out; see what happens to your story, and theirs, when you dwell in their company.

Suzi Banks Baum, creator and producer of ‘Out of the Mouths of Babes: An Evening of Mothers Reading to Others’ and blogger at Laundry Line Divine, will lead 4 sessions at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. All that is required is a pen, a blank journal and the willingness to share. Using creativity techniques and writing prompts, participants will write and listen collectively, encouraging participants to tap their authentic voices and put into words some of the energy and insight that is born in the creative act of mothering. Participants will have the opportunity to submit work generated in these workshops to be published in a booklet that will be sold at the March, 2013 ‘Out of the Mouths of Babes: An Evening of Mothers Reading to Others’ event.

Cost is $20.00 per session, or $75 for the series.

The first five registrants for the full series will receive a free copy of creativity coach Miranda Hersey Helin’s e-book The Creative Mother’s Guide: 6 Creative Practices for the Early Years. http://www.mirandahersey.com/ebook.php
