Event Details

This year, we are delighted that the Simon's Rock Chorus, directed by Jack Brown, will join us to present the first half of the program, consisting of arrangements of standards from the “Great American Songbook” as well as famous Brazilian pieces. The chorus will be accompanied by guest artists Joe Rose on piano, alumnus Chris St. Clair on bass, and student instrumentalists.

For this concert, the Simon's Rock Jazz Ensemble, directed by John Myers, will present an eclectic program with standards by John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, and others, including a piece by John's teacher Hank Levy, and a new original called “Presents of Mind.” The Ensemble will be joined by two faculty colleagues; trumpeter Allan Dean and vocalist Bill Dunbar.
