The Simon's Rock Chorus is the largest performing group at the college and sings a wide variety of music from five centuries. Recent concerts have included Schubert's Mass in G and Purcell's Dido & Aeneas. They will be joined by Simon's Rock's two smaller select a cappella ensembles, Anoymous 10 and Tapestry. Anonymous 10 is a women's a cappella early music ensemble that frequently performs off-campus. Most recently they sang a program at Emmanuel Church in Boston. Tapestry, a new mixed voice group at Simon's Rock, also specializes in medieval, renaissance and contemporary a cappella music. Tapestry makes it's debut this spring. All three choruses are led by Jack Brown.
Directed by Lucy Bardo, the Simon's Rock early music instrumental ensemble, The Collegium, will perform music of late 16th and early 17th century Italy and England: Orologio, Gussago, Parabosco, Ortiz, Weelkes, Campian and Morley.
