Kilpatrick Monthly Lecture Series: ENLIVENING YOUR "SUB-BASEMENT": EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE WHO SPEND HOURS SITTING, By Sharon True
When: Wed Nov 02 • 6:00 pm
Where: Kilpatrick Athletic Center
Sharon True has been a movement specialist for over 30 years. She is a
registered somatic movement therapist, and a certified Laban movement
analyst and a certified Pilates instructor.
If your occupation or recreation keeps you in a chair for hours, chances
are your body will suffer negative consequences sooner or later. Muscular weakness and imbalances become established around the hip joints and spine, and the internal organs in the area are less supported. Posture worsens, and chronic pain can become a problem. This workshop teaches you tips and tricks to reverse this pattern, as well as simple exercises to enliven your "sub-basement," the deep muscles of the lower body.
Workshop participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and shoes or socks that won't slip on the wood floor. It is recommended that you use the restroom immediately prior to taking the workshop.
THESE LECTURES ARE FREE TO KAC MEMBERS! (The price for non-members is $5.00)
SIMONS ROCK STUDENTS IN ATTENDANCE RECEIVE ACE CREDIT!
