Event Details

The Simon's Rock Collegium under Lucy Bardo and Anonymous 10 under Jack Brown offer a holiday program of medieval carols and Renaissance motets as well as music for recorders and viols.

The Collegium members will be playing an anonymous processional from the 13th century and a Saltarello from the 14th century.  They will intersperse various court dances from the early 17th century by Michael Praetorius, William Brade and John Dowland throughout the program. Also featured will be fantasias by Paul Lutkemann and William Byrd.

Collegium members:  Edward Bakshis, tenor recorder, Gemma Gearhart, soprano recorder, Benjamin Palmer, soprano, tenor and bass recorders, Emma Sanger-Johnson, soprano and alto recorders, David Sharpe, soprano recorder and bass viol, Alec Ansusinha, bass viol, Ceilidh Blood, treble viol, Michael Depp, bass viol, Faye Donnelley, bass viol,  Sarah Jimenez, treble viol, Victoria Kelley, tenor viol.

Anonymous 10's selections include music by Vittoria and Praetorius. Their concerts include a performance of this program at the Emmanuel Church in Boston, MA on December 7, 2010.
