This Tuesday at 8pm in the Lecture Center our Simon's Rock Coterie For The Cogitation Of Diasporic East-Asian Audiovisual Culture will be making an exhibition of the 1988 feature film Akira for the edification of our student body. Akira is a science fiction film set in the distant future year of 2019. Things have gone generally awry and then action happens. In comparison with its contemporaries animated or otherwise the film shows very little of its age, a remarkable feat considering that spans 20 years worth of development both in terms of art and execution. It's a pretty good movie so I bid those few people who have read this far into this email to congregate and cogitate!
