Proseminar in Social Science Inquiry Lecture Series, 2009-2010

Michael Kimmel, an eminent sociologist and author of Guyland and Men In America, will present the first lecture of the Proseminar series, "Mars and Venus, or Planet Earth: Women and Men in the New Millennium."

Kimmel describes his lecture: "Daily, we hear that women and men are so different that they might as well be from different planets. Well, what does the evidence actually say? And what are the implications for our every day lives? I will discuss such issues as identity, friendship, fatherhood, love, sex, violence, and other issues."
