Art History Slide Collection

Rembrandt Self PortraitOver 30,000 slides are available to faculty and students to supplement teaching and learning in painting, sculpture, architecture, fashion, graphic art and photography from antiquity to present day.  The slide collection is located in the slide library at the Daniel Arts Center.

Faculty are encouraged to borrow slides for use in their classes as well as research. Faculty outside the Art Department are asked to make an appointment with the Curator upon their first visit.

Students are allowed to borrow slides for research and classwork. Slides must be signed out by a staff member. Inquiries about specific slide availability can be sent via email.

Student Employment

The Slide Library employs students during the fall and spring semesters. Work includes, copystand photography, refiling, cataloguing, research, scanning as well as working with Filemaker Pro and Photoshop. If you have an interest in Art History and/or Digital Photography please contact Margaret Grant at mgrant. Training is provided.
