Electrician/Maintenance Technician

Bard College at Simon’s Rock is seeking a qualified individual for an Electrician/Maintenance Technician position.  This position reports directly to the Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor who works in the college’s Physical Plant Department.

The Electrician/Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility will be to perform skilled work, installations and repairs of electrical facilities and equipment as well as general maintenance repairs and other duties commonly assigned to the Physical Plant Department.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician’s License, and 1 to 2 years field experience, preferably working in a commercial environment.  Candidates must have transportation and a valid driver’s license.  Successfully passing a background check is required.

This is a full-time, hourly position (40 hours per week) with excellent employee benefits, including health insurance.  The hourly wage range for this position is $13.50 to $16.50 per hour.  The routine work schedule for this job is 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays, year-round.  Additional work hours will be required when needed (including weekends).  We are seeking a person interested in making a long-term commitment to the college.
