Student Health Services does not issue routine medical excuses. At the request of the student and with written permission, Health Services staff will notify faculty of a student's illness.

Medical leaves may be granted when illness requires that a student have medical care beyond the resources of the college. Medical leaves will be granted for not less than one week and no more than two weeks. Requests for medical leaves must be made to the Director of Health Services so that the leave can be approved and faculty and administrators can be notified.

Students on medical leave are required to remain off campus unless given permission for as exception. Students must have a family member or other adult notify Student Health Service that they will oversee care of the student while on medical leave. Student Health Services must be notified when the student returns to campus and if any medical follow up is indicated upon return to campus.
