Alumni Leadership Council

The Alumni Leadership Council supports the mission of Simon’s Rock as goodwill ambassadors, with specific initiatives in recruitment, fundraising, event organizing and alumni outreach. Also, the ALC serves as a liaison between alumni, College administrators, and the Simon’s Rock Board of Overseers.

Some projects that ALC members work on include:

  • Leading career affinity groups for alumni
  • Selecting alumni to receive the Simon’s Rock Outstanding Alumni Award
  • Conducting elections for alumni representatives to the ALC
  • Leading regional alumni social chapters
  • Fundraising to support Simon’s Rock and its students
  • Recruiting prospective Simon’s Rock students
  • Publishing a mini-magazine for alumni and friends of Simon’s Rock
  • Producing annual reunion celebrations

Nicole Fitting ’93 JA, Chair
Nicole Fitting Committees: Careers, Chapters, Reunion
Nicole is a certified teacher for grades K-9 as a general sciences and social studies teacher. She is studying speech language pathology, working toward her second master’s degree. She hopes to become a professor and continue her desires to teach, research and provide SLP services.

 

Charlotte Anderholt ‘01
Charlotte Anderholt Committees: Careers, Publications
Charlotte Anderholt graduated from Simon's Rock with a BA in Politics, Law, & Society. After several years working on a PhD in Political Theory at Georgetown University, she decided to move on to other things. Since then she has worked as a consultant on measuring progress in post-conflict environments at the U.S. Institute of Peace, and on gender issues in peacekeeping at the U.S. Army's Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute. After five years in Washington, DC, she currently resides in Kansas City, MO with her spouse and one year old son, Jasper.

 

Keith Brierley-Bowers ‘80
Keith Bowers Committees: Recruiting
Keith resides in the Baltimore area with Penny ’81 and their two daughters: Perri ’08 and Kori (hopefully ’12). He works for BGE HOME running IT, business process and sustainability endeavors for the organization. He is also on the board as Treasurer of the Fire Museum of Maryland. Keith earned a MA in I/O Psychology from West Chester University and an Executive MBA from Johns Hopkins.

 

Paul Goldschmidt ‘84
Paul Goldschmidt Committees: Publications, Reunion
Paul received his BA from Vassar College and a PhD from the University of Illinois in Political Science. After teaching for six years, he left academic life and is now a consultant helping hospitals and large medical practice groups install and manage electronic medical record systems. In his spare time, he collects antique photographs and reviews children's literature. He lives in Middleton WI with his partner and his cat.

 

Christopher Derhammer-Hill ‘86
Christopher Derhammer-Hill ‘86 Committees:
Representative to the Board of Overseers
Christopher Derhammer Hill is an experienced Information Technology professional, with a history of leadership in his field and in our community. He entered the College in Fall 1986, graduating with a B.A. in the Languages and Literature division. Christopher spent several years working as an Environmental Planner before transitioning into Information Technology. He works with Oracle today, managing technical staff throughout North America. Christopher and his wife Cordelia Derhammer-Hill met as first years and now live with their two children in Mamaroneck, New York.

Christopher has been engaged as an active alumni leader for more than a decade, and has been a steadfast contributor to the College. He joined the Alumni Leadership Council in 2003, and served as its co-chair from 2008 to 2010. He has served as Alumni Representative to the Board of Overseers since 2008.

 

Cordelia Derhammer-Hill ‘86

Cordelia finished her AA at Simon's Rock and her BA at Sarah Lawrence College, then later went into professional fundraising. Now she is a full-time mother who spends her time volunteering as a naturalist, girl scout leader, active PTA member and advocate for a special-needs child. She has been involved with Simon's Rock alumni endeavors since the late 1990s along with her her husband, who she met in her first weeks at Simon's Rock.

 

Harry Marker ‘05

Harry graduated with a BA from Simon's Rock in 2009. Since then, he has bartended, eaten whale in Iceland, ridden a Segway, and thought about maybe going ice fishing (some day). He is currently living in New York and goofing around as much as possible without getting fired, and writing in his spare time.

 

Kaki Notestine Kasdorf ‘93
Committees:
Nominating/Awards, Fundraising
After graduating from Simon's Rock, Kaki obtained her JD from Boston College. She practiced law in her home town for seven years, specializing in family law and estate administration. Deciding that the drama of a full-time family law practice was not compatible with a happy personal life, she made a career change and went to work for Colorado State University supporting their Development efforts as a prospect researcher. In 2011, she joined the Development team at Interlochen Center for the Arts where she is the Grants & Research Manager. Kaki lives in northern Michigan with her husband, Jason.

 

Bruce Schoenberg ‘81
Committees: Careers, Simon’s Rock Bar Association, Recruiting
Bruce Schoenberg earned his AA at Simon’s Rock in 1983, his BS at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985 and his JD at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, in 1988. He is currently Partner at Schrader & Schoenberg LLP in New York City – a general practice firm specializing in securities and commercial litigation.
