Kandidate in de Germaanse Philologie, Katholieke Universiteit Brussel (Belgium); Licentiate in de Germaanse Philologie, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium); M.A. in German Literature, University of Massachusetts/Amherst; Ph.D. in Germanic Linguistics, University of Massachusetts/Amherst.
Teaching:
Dr. Kerckvoorde started her teaching career in Europe, where she taught Dutch and English as a Foreign Language. Before joining the faculty at Bard College at Simon's Rock, she taught German at the University of Massachussetts at Amherst.
Research:
She is a native of Belgium and is fluent in Dutch, French, German, and English. Her main interests are in Germanic linguistics, Middle Dutch language and literature, and medieval literature.

(a) Author of two books: An Introduction to Middle Dutch, Berlin: Mouton de Gruyter, 1992. A Descriptive Grammar of Jan Yperman's ‘Cyrurgie', New York: Lang, 1994. (b) She has published numerous reviews in Language, German Quarterly, Monatshefte, and Germanic Notes and Reviews.
