Linda Anderson

Visiting Faculty in Psychology, Counselor

A.B., Boston University, Dual Major, Psychology/ Spanish Language and Literature; M.S., M. Phil., Ph.D., Columbia University. 

Dr. Anderson’s area of specialization is clinical psychology. Formerly a staff psychologist at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, she has taught at Teachers College, Columbia University and is currently a tenured Professor within the City University of New York (CUNY) where she has also served in the capacity of college compliance officer. She has been in private practice over twenty years.  She provides consultation and evaluation in the areas of intimate partner violence, custody and visitation, psychology of African American success, and community based capacity building.  Currently, she consults to The Dalton School.

Dr. Anderson has recently completed a book proposal entitled, “Unearthing Psychology:  Listening to Psychologists of Color” and is co-authoring a book on intimate relationships and their “silent agreements.” She has appeared in numerous media outlets while discussing a diverse range of mental health related topics.
